Description

About The Victorian 1906

As a close three generation family working in partnership with life long friends, we have attempted to bring the true essence of these relationships to life in The Victorian.

This lovingly restored Victorian property built around 1906, in the heart of Montagu, is more than a hotel and more than a guest house. It's something unique, something special, something out of the ordinary...

In fact our effort has gone into creating something quite unique. With the luxury of a five star hotel and the homely feel of a guest house, The Victorian 1906 is a triumph of classical Victorian design....with a 'twist'.

The Suites

Whist overlooking our secluded courtyard pool and court yard suites you make your way up an architecturally designed post modern staircase to the upper level on which our deluxe suites are situated. Individually appointed and decorated, our 9 large luxurious rooms with there beautiful oversized bathrooms are truly designed to spoil the guest whilst making you feel completely at home. The premier suites have balconies and overlook the mountains.

The Entrance

The distinguishable exterior leads through to a French style road side veranda restaurant to a superbly appointed reception area. The guest is immediately captivated by the old and the new existing beautifully side by side.

Luxurious Style & Comfort

Respect for the order and strictness of the Victorian era is juxtaposed with the most modern playful and delectable colour palette. Fabrics in rich hews of reds, pinks, greens, gold's, offset with the shick of Italian tiled floors beneath heavenly chandeliers makes for the most refreshing atmosphere, and as one visitor said...'just being here rejuvenates the soul'.

The Wine Bar

On the right, a solid handcrafted 20 seater pub in an intimate setting takes you back a century in time. One can almost hear steam engine trains and feel the atmosphere of a Victorian drinking establishment were it not for the list of twenty first century international drinks and modern accessories.

The Restaurant

On the left an exquisite 40 seater restaurant serves the freshest and most wholesome meals, including legendary home baked cakes and pastries. The restaurant specialises in real authentic South African traditional cuisine lovingly made by a member of the family.

Our aim has been to achieve new heights in delivering professionalism, with soul.

If this is what you are looking for....welcome to The Victorian 1906.
