Situated in the village Patensie in the fertile Gamtoos Valley, the gateway to the Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve, a World Heritage site. See unspoiled vistas of pristine nature, birds, animals, plants and mountains as it was created. Also see the southernmost boabab trees in the world, planted by the late Dr. Archer.

Gamtoos B&B is close to Jeffrey’s Bay (known internationally for its surfing at Supertubes), St Francis Bay (marina), Port St Francis and Cape St Francis.  It is also close to the Garden Route with Plettenberg Bay, Knysna (oysters), George and Oudtshoorn (ostriches) not too far away.

To the east are Port Elizabeth (Nelson Mandela Metropole) with its international airport and harbour as well as the billion dollar Coega development and Addo Elephant Park with the Graaff Reinet heritage area on the route north to Johannesburg.

At Gamtoos B&B you will find tranquility, peace and hospitality at a reasonable price.  Our accommodation is spacious and caters for individuals or family groups.

Experience country life, drive through Baviaanskloof or take a guided tour.  We also arrange agricultural tours and game or scenic drives.  Special activities can also be arranged.  Passengers are picked up and transported to their destination.


We are situated in the Gamtoos Valley in the village of Patensie which is the last stop and gateway to the magnificent and undisturbed Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve, a World Heritage site.
There are two guest suites, each self contained and private. Accommodation can be on a B&B or self catering basis.

Gamtoos B&B is ideally located for day trips, being within one hour's drive of Port Elizabeth and less to Jeffreys Bay, St Francis Bay, Cape St Francis and Port St Francis. Plettenberg Bay, the Garden Route, Tsitsikamma, the Langkloof and Addo are all within two hours' drive. Oudtshoorn, George and Knysna are only three hours away. Willowmore, via the Baviaanskloof, takes between five and six hours depending on how often one stops.

We can cater for tour groups of up to 15 in combination with neighbouring B&B's.

We offer tranquility, peace and hospitality at a reasonable price as well as braai facilities, safe parking, a swimming pool and privacy. Some of our rooms are air-conditioned.

Game viewing for groups can be arranged and the beautiful environment is ideal for walks, bird watching or for simply soaking up the natural beauty.

Gamtoos B&B's location is ideal for businessmen, being within a minute or two of all businesses.

The Gamtoos Valley is known for its excellent citrus which is exported world-wide and high quality potatoes. Many other crops are cultivated year-round under irrigation and the valley is well-known as the vegetable basket of the Eastern Cape.

Accommodation

The first suite has a bedroom with a double bed and a family room with three single beds and an open plan kitchenette equipped with a fridge, microwave, 2 plate mini kitchen, kettle and all the ancilliaries. There is a bathroom with a bath, shower, toilet and hand basin.

The second suite has a spacious, air conditioned family room with a double bed and two single beds. There are a comfortable sitting area and a kitchenette equipped with a fridge, microwave, 2 plate mini kitchen kettle and all the other necessities. The bathroom is large and beautifully finished with a bath, shower, toilet and hand basin. It has a large, private deck and its own covered parking.

There is a large patio with braai and plunge pool.

Guests who wish to socialise are welcome to use the enormous lounge and bar.

Depending on the weather, guests can have breakfast either in the dining room or on a huge covered balcony with fabulous views of the valley and mountains.
