Zingela Indlela, meaning game tracks, is an unforgettable experience of ecological beauty, flowers, fynbos, animals and guests who blend with nature. The wide open spaces with the blue skies, the omnipresence of the splendour of the Outinqua mountain range in another hue of blue and the abundance of radiant colours of the Cape and coastal fynbos creates a devine feeling of tranquility. • An under-utilized corn and cattle farm was used as a model to develop and create this unique tourist/working farm scenario. • Tourism is only a section of the farm life, however you will find diverse farming activities e.g. game, crocodile, goats, birds, producing of fodder and fynbos. To sit on the deck at dusk will offer a lovely view of the entire farm and all the activities. • The farm in the Mossel Bay district is 694 ha and is fully game fenced. The property is situated 9 km west of Brandwag, 19 km from Hartenbos and some 25 km from the historic and quaint Mossel Bay on the way to Oudtshoorn. Hartenbos is a popular holiday and beach resort. • Sandy clay soils lie in the valleys with more stony character on the terraces. Some terraces are capped with rocky kaolin/sediment material. • The veld is coastal renosterveld with high proportions of grasses, fynbos and indigenous bush. • The farm is situated 19 km from Hartenbos, the popular playground for holidaymakers. Restaurants, beautiful tracks for strolls, fishing, water sports and mini golf courses – all part of the beautiful and world-renowned Garden Route. • Accommodation on the farm is peaceful and quiet. • Two lovely ladies, Norma and Rosy, are helpful staff members of this facility. • No meals, except breakfast, will be served as this is a self-catering lodge. The kitchen may be used. CROCODILES: The Nile crocodile is born and bred on this farm. The owner, Deon Douglas, will gladly take visitors on a tour of the crocodile farming. DirectionsFollow the R328 from Hartenbos Oudtshoorn Hartenbos and turn in to Brandwag at the road sign. Pass the church and guest house and follow the left hand road at the forked section. Follow the road for 8 km to Zingela Indlela on your left hand; pass through the Zingela gate. Slowly down-hill: the lodge is on your right hand before you reach the farm buildings. |
