Being situated directly on the N6 to East London makes for easy access to the town and its surroundings * The town's primary industries are the surrounding farming and forestry area's and associated industries such as sawmilling and recently the establishment of a growing tourist industry for those interested in the outdoors. * It is 100 km from Queenstown and 75 km from East London on an excellent Road. * There is a very good Country Club which offers squash, golf, tennis, hockey and cricket. * Gubu Dam is about 15km from Stutterheim and is available for trout fishing. * Wriggleswade Dam is about 20km from Stutterheim and is available for bass fishing and boating. * There are also numerous hiking trails throughout the Amatola Mountains and extensive forest walks. * The beaches at the coast are close by and are unspoilt and uncrowned.
