It boasts the fourth best climate in the world and is locally known as the “ Sunshine Coast ”. Its long golden sandy beaches are unsurpassed with safe swimming, fishing, water sports and scuba diving being only some of the attractions. Also situated on the beachfront is the “Boardwalk” Casino and entertainment complex. Try one of its many fine restaurants overlooking the tranquil lake. Close by is the Dolphin Oceanarium, the Snake Park and the Museum. The city centre is steeped in early British (1820) settler history. It's many historic monuments and buildings bear testimony to the periods. The world famous malaria free “Addo Elephant park and Shamwari Game Reserve” now boast the Big 7 – Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino and with the recently amalgamated Marine Reserve, Whales and Great White Sharks. Excursions to close by Islands to view the large Penguin and Seal colonies are now also major attractions. Port Elizabeth is the eastern gateway to the “Garden Route” which includes Jeffrey's Bay (The perfect waves attract surfers from around the world), Tsitsikamma National Park (A visit to the Storms River mouth and the 2000 year old Yellow wood tree is a must). Knysna and its famous lakes, the Cango Caves , Agulhas (The southern most tip of Africa, where both the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet) and the Wine Route are just some of the many attractions, all of which lead to the mother city - Cape Town. The original homestead still on this site is believed to date back to the late 19 th Century – The Victorian era. Built from Oregon pine and Corrugated iron shipped from England in ‘kit form' and erected by craftsmen of that bygone age, this homestead has been lovingly restored to its former glory. This house formed part of what was known as the ‘Milner Villas' which were presumed to be used by Lord Milner – at the time Governor of the Cape Colony as his private hunting lodge. The restoration and lavishly built additions to the Guest House offers both the tourist and businessman 11 elegant suites all with stunning en-suite bathrooms and public areas set in a sub-tropical garden surrounding a weather protected sparkling pool. A delicious full buffet breakfast is included in the tariff and a varied dinner menu is optional. Airport, beaches, City attractions and Sporting venues are all within 5 minutes drive of the Guest House. Addo Elephant Park and Shamwari Game park are within an hour's drive. This 'Victorian' establishment reputedly built for Lord Milner - (British Governor of The Cape Colony) circa. 1890 as his hunting lodge, oozes nostalgia of a bygone age.
