Accommodation

Candlewood Cottage

Candlewood Cottage (a non-smoking Cottage) sleeping two only and set in splendid isolation on the plot next door to the Armagh Country Lodge has been a dream waiting to happen for Johan and Marion.

This is the absolute ultimate in privacy and peace offering the tranquillity and stillness most of us crave and really need to soothe our souls.

The ability to sit still in silence and absorb the very quietude of the setting is what is on offer here.

It is designed in such a way that it capitalizes on the views of the fynbos, forest, and the Tsitsikamma Mountain range.

The deck is extra wide so that one can sling that hammock and enjoy the bird song while reading that long postponed novel purchased aeons ago for just this very moment.

Inside the Cottage we have installed a wide screen T V, DVD/CD player with surround sound; there is a log fireplace for those cooler days and Aircon for the heat - although double insulation will ensure comfort all year round. Squishy armchairs face the fire for those days and nights when one just cannot move! A well-stocked fridge with cool drinks and a selection of wines - red, white and bubblies is part of the mini-kitchen (as we are fully licensed it is appreciated that only our drinks be consumed on the premises).

The bed is an extra length king-sized, firm but comfy, zone, dressed in the very finest percale linen enveloping the lightest pure duck down duvets. Lying in bed the full vista of fynbos, forest and mountains is spread in front of ones eyes as the French doors are situated straight opposite the bed! And we haven’t mentioned the pure unpolluted air inducing bygone deep baby day sleeps!!

The dressing room is spacious enough to take care of the contents of any suitcase; the bathroom has a walk in shower, a bath built for two designed so that one can laze and gaze out with double doors flung wide - and perhaps (definitely) even that glass of bubbly in hand!

A continental Breakfast can be spirited onto one’s deck or a full English (Irish!) Breakfast can be enjoyed at the Armagh a mere stroll away past the salt-water swimming Pool. Dinner a’ la Carte style in Rafters @ the Armagh will take care of the evening.

Straight opposite the Candlewood Cottage is the Fynbos Reserve where one can take a 30-minute stroll inhaling the wonderful aromas of many diverse plants – some quite rare.

The new Tsitskamma Mountain Spa will further enhance your well-being and you can return to the fray a calm and restored person ready again for the cut and thrust of working life.

Oak Cottage

What started life as the operation's centre for the Armagh building project, and later evolved into a craft shop, has now become a snug B&B hideaway.
A place to commune with nature, listen to bird song and soak up the tranquil atmosphere in a garden both peaceful and private.
This one bed roomed Cottage consists of a bathroom with bath and separate shower, lounge with Satellite T V and a little fitted kitchen complete with microwave and fridge/freezer.

Outside on the Patio squishy armchairs beckon with the Weber (kettle braai) on hand for delicious leisurely food.
In the middle of the garden is the perfect stone barbecue, and everywhere there are nooks and crannies including the seating placed under the 100 year old Oak Tree. Hammocks slung between the stalwart trees, planted by us twelve years ago, are the perfect place for catching up on the latest novel or just a pleasurable snooze.

Escape the stresses of everyday life, order a Barbecue pack, including assorted salads, and relax. Instructions offered by Johan free of charge!

Breakfast in a Basket can be brought to your Patio or all meals can be enjoyed in our Rafters Restaurant.

Ideally suited for the romantic honeymoon getaway.
