Riverside Lodge is beautifully situated in Amsterdamhoek on the banks of the Swartkops River and is just two kilometres from Bluewater Bay beach and only 20 minutes drive to virtually anywhere in Port Elizabeth! Amsterdamhoek is a riverside village named after a Dutch warship wrecked at the Swartkops River mount in 1817.

Our guests include business people, holiday makers, family groups and intrepid fishermen who are looking for reasonably-priced accommodation in a comfortable and scenic environment.

With the stunning river views and abundant bird life we are able to offer our guests a unique and tranquil home away from home experience. Comfortable double rooms with down duvets all with en-suite bathrooms / showers, satellite TV, tea & coffee facilities and hairdryers. Our rooms are serviced daily by our courteous and well-trained staff. There is a private guest lounge overlooking the pool and river.

Directions

From Port Elizabeth Airport On leaving the PE airport, turn right and continue along Alistair Miller Drive until you see the signs for the N2. Once on the N2 follow the signs towards Grahamstown. Once you have driven over the Swartkops River Bridge take the Bluewater Bay off ramp and turn left into Weinronk Way. At the next stop sign turn left into Hillcrest Road. Riverside Lodge signage is visible at this stage. At the next stop street turn right into Riverside Drive and continue until the next stop – turn left into Tipper’s Creek. This goes down to the river. Turn right into Amsterdamhoek Drive. Riverside Lodge is after the 3rd speed hump. From Cape Town On approaching PE on the N2, continue on the N2 and follow the signs towards Grahamstown. Once you have driven over the Swartkops River Bridge take the Bluewater Bay off ramp and turn left into Weinronk Way. At the next stop sign turn left into Hillcrest Road. Riverside Lodge signage is visible at this stage. At the next stop street turn right into Riverside Drive and continue until the next stop – turn left into Tipper’s Creek. From the direction of Grahamstown On approaching PE take the Bluewater Bay off ramp before the Swartkops River Bridge. Turn right into Weinronk Way.
