Before been roped into the Mantis Group - a collection of privately owned and sumptuous properties in South Africa - Lake Pleasant was just another ordinary hotel.

The new Lake Pleasant Hotel became the Garden Route jewel in the Mantis crown and was one of the few graded 5 star hotels in Africa.

In October 2005 Mantis changed the hotel to luxury self contained all-suite accommodation offering the same 5 star accommodation but without the expensive frills required of a 5 star hotel and the new Lake Pleasant Living lifestyle was born.

The Garden Route, a panoramic region idyllically placed between the Indian Ocean and the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma mountains, is home to Lake Pleasant Living Exclusive Holiday Suites in the Knysna district. All duplex Villas are free-standing and consist of two bedrooms
1 Villa can sleep a maximum of four (4) adults
5 Villa with sleeper couch can sleep a maximum of four (4) adults sharing with two (2) children each

Bistro on the Lake

Although our suites have fully equipped kitchenettes, we offer a food-and-beverage operation, Bistro on the Lake.

The Bistro, at Lake Pleasant Living creates an environment that makes the dining experience enjoyable. Relaxed atmosphere, good yet unobtrusive service, friendly staff and most importantly superb food.

The menu offers a blend of European and South African dishes and caters for all palates.

Follow the N2 from Cape Town towards Knysna. Pass Sedgefield (before Knysna) and you will find the Lake Pleasant Hotel just off the N2 on your right overlooking the Groenvlei.
