"In 1988 we went on holiday as a family for the first time; my youngest child was two months old. We saw how good it was for the family, and decided that it would make it an annual event. So every June we packed the bakkie with everything we needed, and the four children sat behind in the ‘canopy’. We travelled Africa before many people even thought of doing it. We know the Moremi Reserve in Botswana so well, we’ve driven Namibia in its entirety and visited places that don’t have any toilet or bathroom facilities. During our travels we have gained an understanding of what traveller’s needs are". "We started building a house for a farm worker on our farm, and when he left suddenly before the house was complete, we decided to change the house into a chalet for tourists. We also developed a campsite, and still dream of opening a lodge on the property". Accommodation The fully equipped chalet is situated in a tranquil kloof among indigenous forest. The chalet has two bedrooms with one double and two single beds and three sleeping couches in the lounge area. There is one bathroom with a basin, toilet and shower. No electricity but gas facilities. The lounge has a fireplace and open wooden deck with braai facilities. The campsite is next to a mountain stream. Big yellowwood trees surround the area. Basic facilities - hot shower and flush toilet. Braaiwood available.
