AIRLIES' HISTORY
The home "AIRLIES", has been named after the farm near Wigtown in Scotland where Isabel, the Scottish bride of Dr Charles Muller grew up.

They commissioned the pioneer architect, Wynand Louw to design and build the house for them, circa 1910.

Both Charles and Isabel were medical doctors and practised from this house. They were both buried on the ridge near where the British fort has been built above the tunnel in Cogmanskloof, the western gateway into Montagu.

Airlies is located in an historical house built at the beginning of the previous century offering Guest House and Bed & Breakfast Accommodation in Montagu, the heart of Route 62, in the Breede River Valley in the Western Cape.

Directions to AIRLIES, 36 Bad Street, Montagu. From the East (Oudtshoorn, George, Knysna etc.): Follow the R62 into Montagu. Turn right at the 5th street (Kerkstraat/Church Street). Drive up to the church and turn right into Badstraat/Bath Street. We are around the corner at number 36 on the right-hand side of the street. From the West and South (Cape Town, Worcester, Hermanus, and Swellendam etc.): Follow the R60/R62 into Montagu. Turn left at the 3rd street (Kerkstraat/Church Street). Drive up to the church and turn right into Badstraat/Bath Street. We are around the corner at number 36 on the right-hand side of the street. From the North (Touws River, Beaufort West etc.): Follow the R318 into Montagu. Drive along Badstraat/Bath Street, through the business area. We are diagonally opposite the Post Office at number 36, on the left-hand side of the street.
