Description

Between the Knysna forests and the Klein Karoo, off the N9, Williamsburg Mountain Reserve is an uncut jewel. On it's 2000 hectares are two charming Cape cottages. One of sandstone with stoep, stable doors, stone floor, original timber and antique furniture, the other whitewashed with steeply sloping green roof, brass beds and two braai areas. Azaleas at the door on the stoep covered by leafy canopy draw you outside to a naturalists haven. The local flora fascinated botanist John Burchell. Game is plentiful with baboon, springbok, duiker, grey rehbok and bushpig to name but a few. Birds call from every bush and crag and there is a long list to tick off. For those with good shoes, walking trails follow streams high into the rugged mountains, or past herds of inquisitive springbok. Williamsburg boasts superb 4x4 trails, some certainly not for the faint hearted. Enjoy a 3 to 4 hour trail along the crest of a mountain amongst flowering proteas, erica and buchu. Stop and watch the baboons gorging themselves on flowering honeybush or follow the grey rhebok as they effortlessly bound away like rocking horses.

Rates

Gykonna Cottage		R240 pppn for first 2 guests, thereafter R150 pppn. In season: R300 pppn for first two guests, thereafter R200 pppn, minimum charge R350 (out of season) & R400 (in season) per night.
Kransburg Cottage		R200 pppn for first two guests, thereafter R130 pppn. In season: R250 pppn for first two guests, thereafter R175 pppn, minimum charge R300 (out of season) & R350 (in season) per night.
Camping		R60 pppn. In season R80 pppn children under 16 free. Minimum charge (out of season) R150 pn (in season) R240pn.
4x4 Trails		R200 per vehicle. Minimum of two vehicles.
4x4 Training		R750 per person.
Trout fishing		R100 per rod per day (catch and release only)
